The idea of intersemiotic translation makes me think about the intersemiotic practices in space/place, such as people try to convey brand concepts through the form of multimodal shopwindow rather than through written leaflet. Do you think the idea of intersemiotic translation could also bring some new perspectives of examining semiotic landscape in the modern society?

If translation is defined as what Professor Marais does, does that mean we don't necessarily have clearly-defined source and target texts in a traditional sense?
